The film is of interest in any case - with or without subtitles.

I wouldn't rule out being able to help with a French version, though more to find people to help than to do it. My French is pretty fluent though not native, and it is always better to translate into your own language, particularly for the idioms required for subtitles. I do know people who subtitle some of the Promedios Chiapas/zapatista films into French from Spanish and English. They might be able to help with this.

As for French conventional screenings, the small cinema chain Utopia is doing good work, I think Anne-Marie Faucon is the person you might speak to there, via this link: http://www.cinemas-utopia.org/U-blog/toulouse/index.php?contact

My personal interest is for the monthly screenings in a rural French village south of Toulouse, where our audiences range from 20 to a few dozen depending on the subject.

Thanks for your interest. Our distributor BULLFROG FILMS does make films available to activists for non-commercial use at a very low cost rate, and they plan to do so with SHIFT CHANGE. As for a French subtitled version, we had not planned to release one, but perhaps we should. Spanish, yes, since all of our films are released in both English and Spanish, and nearly all of the Mondragon interviews were conducted in Spanish, as were some interviews at coops in the U.S. Is a French versiuon something with which you could assist us?

Also very interested in what you're doing, not least for our programme of regular micro-screenings in SW France. Will you be subtitling in French? Will you have micro-screening roll-out plans (aka cheap/no/donation-based licence arrangements?)

We begin editing in earnest in January. And we have a bounty of terrific material to draw from - about the cooperatives in the U.S. as well as the remarkable Mondragon Cooperatives in the Basque region of Spain. We plan to be finished in the middle of 2012, and we are on track to do that. Keep checking back at https://shiftchange.org for progress reports and announcements of early screenings.

I have been showing older films about worker cooperatives and am VERY excited about what you are doing. Do you have an estimate of when your film will be available? As you probably know, 2012 is the International Year of the Cooperative. Lots of organizations and people plan to use this banner to promote worker cooperatives and having your film available to aid this effort would be wonderful.
