Help Get SHIFT CHANGE on PBS Stations Around the Nation!
Your interest–and the financial support from hundreds of you for this documentary about worker coops in the U.S. and Mondragon–made it possible for us to finish SHIFT CHANGE in a timely way during the International Year of the Cooperative.
Since its premiere at Oakland’s Grand Lake Theater last fall, the film has screened literally hundreds of times in movie theaters, film festivals, universities, labor and community settings.
Given the economic times, and the interest in real solutions, SHIFT CHANGE provides ideas and inspires action toward helping build a new economy. We’re pleased to be able to offer the all Spanish version now as well, available from Bullfrog Films.
We recently suggested to KCTS–the Seattle PBS station–that they air SHIFT CHANGE. We were thrilled when station programmers recommended the film be broadcast nationally and indicated that KCTS would help to make that happen by acting as the offering station. This is great news, as it will assure a higher profile for the film within the PBS system, and KCTS will help promote SHIFT CHANGE nationwide!
Now we need your help to finish raising the funds necessary for preparing the film for broadcast and to conduct an effective outreach campaign, first to 300 PBS programmers at stations across the country, and then to help get the word out to the broad public. To date we have raised $26,000 toward the $40,000 necessary to conduct a successful outreach campaign. Your contribution, large or small, will help us reach our goal.

How can I get “Shift Change” to play on my local PBS station?
I live in Lincoln, NE.
I’ll donate if it’s coming.
I also want to get it played at our local indie/college/artsy theater – the Mary Ripma Ross Theater.
I honestly don’t expect a huge response, locally. The whole worker owned movement is such a slowly growing grass roots movement that seems to be born of necessity (aka POVERTY – “necessity is the mother of invention”).
But I can (probably) make it roll locally (as far as putting “Shift Change” available to the public) from my own limited (just-a-native-born-local) way – I hope.
Please reply!
Hi Casey– I’m sorry we missed your comment until now. The film is currently being promoted to PBS stations around the country.
